The Norwegian Microarray Consortium
The Norwegian Microarray Consortium (NMC), which is a collaboration between groups from the University of Oslo (UiO) and Rikshospitalet-Radiumhospitalet HF (RR HF), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim (NTNU), and the University of Bergen (UiB), was founded in year 2000, based on initial funding from the Norwegian Cancer Society. NMC now runs a national microarray technology platform under the Functional Genomics (FUGE) program of the Research Council of Norway.
NMC has built up three regional microarray core facilities in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim, and collaborates with the microarray unit at the University of Tromsų. The Core Facilities offer microarray services such as in-house spotted arrays, full hybridisation services on different technology platforms and microarray data analysis to both national and foreign users.
Based on an international expert evaluation (NMC Evaluation Report), the FUGE Board has recently decided to continue the funding of NMC as a national FUGE microarray technology platform for 2007-2011.
